Learning Backtrack Linux

I am now trying to learn Backtrack Linux. I watched a youtube video which is similar to what I have learned during the training I last attended. It is about social engineering — creating a clone website and checking the password of the victim. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQUypy2CEwE

VirtualBox Guest Additions

I was having problems with my Ubuntu guest window, it seems that the full screen doesn’t work. Did a google search and found the solution. It’s the VirtualBox Guest Additions. Here’s the guide I followed: http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/09/22/install-virtualbox-2-guest-additions-in-ubuntu/

It’s so great. Right ctrl + F and I’m in full screen, do it again and I’m back with windows having the Ubuntu guest in window mode. Very great indeed!

Virtual Box- Ubuntu on Windows

Finally, I successfully installed Ubuntu on my Windows PC. Last night, I tried to install it several times but the CD, which was sent to me through shipit, seems to be broken. Every time, I do an installation it would stop and prompt me that a file from the CD can’t be read possibly due to damages on the CD. I wonder why it’s like that. I didn’t do anything with the CD ever since I got it. In the end, I just downloaded it via http and ended up just now. It works like a charm. Virtual Box, Ubuntu and Windows. I can now, again, slowly try to learn the Ubuntu way. Hopefully, I will be able to do a full switch soon.
